Dreyse Model 1907 (Dreyse M1907)
The Dreyse Model 1907 was manufactured by Rheinische Metallwaaren & Maschinenfabrik (RM&M), who later became Rheinmetall. The pistol was designed by Louis Schmeisser and produced by RM&M under the Dreyse brand name.
The Model 1907 was striker-fired, blowback pocket pistol, chambered in .32 ACP / 7.65mm Browning, which fed from a 7-round single stack magazine. Introduced in 1907, but not entering meaningful production until 1908, production ceased in 1918 with approximately 250,000 manufactured.
The Dreyse M1907 Pistol is a weapon that saw use during both World Wars. It was first used in warby the German and Austrian Empires, and later by Nazi German Volksstrum and Volksgrenadierunits.
It was also carried by Vatican City units. While never officially exported to the United States,many G.I.s brought them back as war trophies.The standard Dreyse Pistol fires a 7.65mm Browning cartridge (.32 ACP) with a muzzle velocity of1,200 ft/s. This is a Dreyse M1907It is all original and matching with a nice bore. The original finish is about 95-97% with some spotting on both sides, as well as patina, but very little actual finish loss.
The Dreyse Model 1907 is a semi-automatic pistol designed by Louis Schmeisser. The gun was named after Nikolaus von Dreyse, the designer of the Dreyse Needle Gun.
The pistol had an interesting feature for the time: when the gun was ready to fire, the firing pin projected through the back of the breech block, serving as an early handgun-cocking indicator. It was produced from 1907 to 1915. The caliber is 7.65 and was later made in 9mm.
